go. But I am doing shows. Nice. Yes. And uh last night I did Iowa City, which was my first time. back to the road after I was sick in twenty twelve. And so it holds a really special place in the hour.

I've been back I just I was um I was backstage in twenty thirteen 'cause I took a year off of the road
to
recover. And um And I remember waiting backstage in Iowa City at the theater. It had sold out and I was thinking, Okay, I have a I have a new fan base.

I have I I I f I was feeling insecure. Like, oh, if people have come to me from having had cancer, I don't have anything dark or you know, I d I was just feeling insecure.

And um and then I thought, you know what, I just have to trust that if people like me, they're gonna Like me with or without cancer, dark material and Um and I went out on stage and they were just the most awesome. uh audience. And so to this day I just sing Iowa City's praises. And uh Yeah, so it's always nice to come back and always nice to remind the audiences there, um, of that experience. Yeah. Um so yeah, it was it was a a fun show.

And um Yeah. So that's that's that. How are you? I'm
good. I've been away for two weeks and I just walked in my door a couple hours ago before I have to wake up early and head back out again tomorrow for uh three nights of shows. Where are
you
headed? I'm headed to Boise, Portland, Oregon, and Austin, Texas.
I mean, could you get any better with those cities? I know. They're there's some
great cities. I'm doing five shows. Yeah. So it's uh it's a it's a big weekend. I've been traveling all over. I feel like I've lived five lives in the last two weeks. Yeah. Um, just going from I ha had a bunch of shows and then visiting my mom and then My friend's fiftieth birthday, then I went to the US Open, I'd visit another friend. It's just been like so many things. Yeah. And
how is the US Open?
Really cool. I had never been before. Um, but I um Uh uh love tennis. I played my whole life and I played in college and um I took I got the opportunity to go and I took my brother. He's a big tennis player and fan as well.

Um so we saw uh Coco Golf play and she's incredible. Um, that was the big match of that day and it was great. I got to try their little honey deuce drink. It's this little vodka lemonade drink, so I got was that tasty? It was a tasty treat on a day drunk on a day. I didn't get drunk, but I enjoyed I enjoyed myself one in the afternoon and one in the evening 'cause we stayed all day and watched tennis. And uh did your brother have one? He had one as well, yeah. It's like their signature drink of the tournament now. So that's great. We w we wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Mm-hmm. And is
it is it worth the hype? Is it the drink is worth the hype. It is very good.
It's especially 'cause the it's so hot there. Um still and so it it definitely it feels very refreshing. The one thing that was not worth the hype, someone let me try uh they sell these little packs of chicken nuggets and it has um caviar and crme fraîche and these little different things you can put on the nugget.
