Um and then um We have a accommodation on when we're gonna vote on these at one time. Um we are going to hold on. We have a proclamation naming February twenty twenty four, Black History Month. It its mission centers on administering a distinctive increditation process tailored for law enforcement agencies in the United States and abroad. Accreditation serves as a cornerstone for both the agency and the community, ensuring a steadfast commitment to delivering top-tier professional services.

As well as the ongoing dedication necessary for its maintenance, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors extends commendation to First Sergeant Gert Peterson, Candace Reed Sheets, Katie Carroll, and Andrea Watt for their instrumental roles in navigating the recent reaccreditation processes for the police department. And the Department of Public Communications. Their unwavering commitment ensures that these departments continue to uphold the highest standards of excellence.

You will all receive your own individual um commendation. So but with this I'm going to turn it over to Police Chief Newsom if he has any remarks.

Uh thank you, Chair Jefferson, uh members of the board. Uh I'm Pete Newshm's the Chief of Police here in Prince William County. Uh a couple things I want to point out about the CALEA accreditation. Uh first of all, it's a tri-arc accreditation. Uh when CALEA does accredit the accreditation process, uh they can look at three uh particular uh parts of the agency.
