Good afternoon and welcome back after five weeks off since our work session last month. It is 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28th and it's been a busy five weeks. I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving. For those who wish, please join me in a moment of silence.

Thank you and welcome. We are now on to agenda item three, the approval of the minutes from the meeting of October 10th, 17th, and 24th. I'll entertain a motion to approve 3A, 3B, 3C. So moved, Madam Chair. Second. Motion made by Supervisor Bailey, seconded by Vice Chair Bodie. Any discussion? Seeing none, please vote. Vote unanimous. Okay, thank you. We are on to commendations and proclamations. I'll point out 4A, Mr. Carlos Castro couldn't be available today to receive his commendation for 33 years of service to the community and Toto Supermarket. So that brings us on to 4B. which is commend here for the commendation of Mr. Walker. If you're here for the commendation of Mr. Walker, please move to the front of the chamber here.

Yes. Just want to, um, again, point out, uh, for, for a, just want to thank, um, the totals community and Mr. Carlos Castro. He had to unexpectedly fly out the country. Um, but the work that they've been doing in the community, particularly in the Woodbridge district, um, has been incredible and just want to make sure that we, uh, recognize him and we will deliver his commendation, uh, separately. So thank you. Madam chair. Supervisor Brody. Thank you. Just a ditto. Uh, Supervisor Franklin's comment says, uh, Mr. Castro actually lives in my district. So he's a, constituent of mine and really proud of all the work that he continues to do to tackle all sorts of community issues, especially as it pertains to hunger and making sure that folks are able to be fed during trying times like we are right now.

I'll turn it over to supervisor Franklin. All right. Good evening, everyone. Good afternoon. I should say, um, just want to, uh, recognize Mr. Dominic Walker. Um, one of my residents who, um, has been through an incredible amount over the past, uh, several months. So I'll just read the commendation and then, We'd love for you to make just a couple of remarks if possible. It doesn't have to be long, but I wanted people to kind of hear you. Whereas on July 17th, 2023, Woodbridge Magisterial District resident Dominic Damo Walker displayed tremendous courage and strength of character by running into a burning house. and St. Charles, Missouri, following an explosion, thinking of others before himself, thereby saving the life of his daughter.

And whereas he uses bare hands to remove the burning rooftop from his daughter and another child trapped by the fire. And he found a pathway out of the burning home. And whereas Dominic Walker's heroic rescue actions resulted in him sustaining third degree burns over 50% of his body and caused him to be hospital hospitalized and placed in the medically induced coma for three weeks. And whereas Dominic Walker has had numerous surgeries, including skin grafts to repair his face and hands, he will likely need more surgeries. He is on the mend and to the doctor's surprise is walking and talking. Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Prince William Board of County Supervisors hereby commends and celebrate Dominic Walker for performing heroic actions that saved his daughter's life and wish him well as he continues his long road to recovery.
