So I think because of that, it's really created this lack of transparency and discomfort of, oh, well, I don't know about the money and that's okay because he's handling it or she's handling it or it's fine or we're going to be okay because there's plenty.
But that's just not real life, unfortunately.
We just don't.
That's not how it works.
Yeah, I'm going to hold your hand and we're going to do this together.
And what I do with my clients, I'm like, let's walk through your whole money stories together.
Where did you come from?
How did your parents talk about money?
Who were you raised around?
What was the model for how you were thinking, feeling about money?
What do you need to make sure you feel safe in this marriage?
So for me, I'm going deep in because a lot of times people have no clue about the histories that their partners have lived through that, you know,
Or their own even, right?
They're trying to make sense of it.
Motivates them to do the things that they're doing with their money.
So understanding then they can have grace for each other and be like, oh, I know that she's going to get really upset about this because of this past.
I can leave room for that.
I'm not doing all that.
I'm not a therapist.
I'm like, this is like so sweet.
