I came to the chambers with my family to observe and to listen.

In listening to the passion words of our community, I felt it impossible to stay seated.

There are no words that I can add to this discussion that haven't already been said by people before me tonight and haven't already been known from just observing what's going on.

So I am simply here to add my voice to the chorus.

I'll keep it brief.

I urge you to pass this resolution.

I urge you to vote to protect immigrant families, to keep our city safe, and to stand with our community and add your voice alongside ours.

I'm a resident of Santa Clara, and again, I thank you for your time.

My one concern, I will also say, I've mentioned before, I go to church in Spanish, voy a la inglese en espanol, diez anos, for the last 10 years, and I talk to people

And you can't do that.

Didn't feel like they listened, and so we went and gathered enough signatures and overturned that, and you notice there's no card room in town because the majority of people didn't want that.

I wanna make certain I have no trouble with the policy 056, but when I read these points,

It says a clear implementation timeline identifying what can be executed immediately and what can require additional staffing or resources.

So I want to make certain I'm clear on this.

motion that it's for the 056 and that we can have our staff, especially our city attorney, look over this to make certain that we are handling it correctly and that we are not overstepping our boundaries but that we're within that because these were suggestions, I'm not saying they're bad, I'm saying they haven't been vetted and that's my worry.

And I think, well, that's exactly the reason why we need to make a statement.

For the people that are talking about, well, you know, people are going free.

know our basic values the makeup of this country is under attack and if we say nothing you know who's going to speak for us later thank you councilmember gonzalez
