But you think to yourself, well, I know where this is going.

I'm going to be a doctor.

I'm going to save lives.

I'm going to make a lot of money.

I'm going to provide for my children.

and that allows you to deal with the fact that you're not passionate about it.

You need at least one of those.

You need the passion or the direction.

If you have both, then you've hit the goldmine.

If you have neither, then I think you become a bit nihilistic, at least in regards to your employment.
