Um and third is like the rapid rega re yeah, the rapid rise in costs, um and especially construction costs.

And I think that's really putting a strain on the city in terms of

Funding our capital improvement projects.

Um, for example, we needed to choose between two different grade separation projects to focus on.

because of the rising costs and we just couldn't afford both of them at the same time.

Um it's also had an impact on affordable housing and developers are struggling, they're asking for more resources, they're trying to get more financing, but that's something that's really important to the city and yet rising costs are having an impact on that.

Um but um despite those challenges that I think we've seen and will continue to see.

Um, I'm happy that during my tenure we're we were able to complete some things that

are particularly important to me.

Um and while some of those have been mentioned, because they are so important to me, I want to mention a few.

Um and that is creating a biodiversity plan.

and a wildlife and habitat management plan.

Um, as was said before, the environment and nature are really important to me.

And I'm glad we're moving those forward.

We've also started working on updating area H of the downtown precise plan to preserve the character and the active ground floor uses that are really important in this historic core of our city.

And we also are updating the historic preservation ordinance.

Those again were really important to me.

Um, you know, the character of a city.

Uh is really important and I wanted to make sure we preserve, at least downtown, that character that people so enjoy.
