Anyway, this was when my Aunt Marilee comes in the picture and she starts talking to me about toxins.
No one's talking about toxins.
And she doesn't have any credentials.
There's no white coat.
There's... I'm kind of like, listen, I know enough about you to know that you've been helping a lot of people, but...
You know, how can all the smartest people in the room have never mentioned the things that you're mentioning?

But she's asking me about what I'm eating.
Imagine that.
And if I've been exposed to mold.
And have I recently moved or remodeled because of all the different things you can be exposed to during, you know, the paints and the, you know, new carpets and the windows that don't open.
And I'm thinking...
On one hand, you're crazy, and on the other hand, this is the first time that I feel like I can change something and do something, and I'm a doer.
And no one had given me anything to do.
All they cared about was the symptoms and my, you know, family history, basically, and the medications I'm currently on.
So I decided, okay, I will get rid of my Splenda and my 100 calorie packs.
Again, early 2000s, counting calories was king.
And Accutane was not on Marilee's list.
Birth Control was not on Marilee's list.
You know, the Clorox and the bleach and the ammonia-based cleaners.
