When I talk about betrayal and deception, you know, oftentimes we hear from people, what about red flags?
What, you know, did, you know, the storytellers that we work with, didn't they see a red flag?
Wasn't there something that they had to have known that something was going on?
And at Betrayal, we don't really...
believe in red flags.
I believe people are very good at wearing the mask that they want you to see.
And so until that mask falls, given like an inciting incident or something happens and you truly see someone for who they really are, I think people are very good and capable at lying and wearing a mask.
Like the mask of sanity we talk about a lot on our show.
Right.
And I think there's a lot of parallels between
between that idea and Ed Kemper.
For example, he used the ability to appear as a college student to ingratiate himself in that community and disarm women and hitchhikers

We don't cover murder on our show.
We do a lot of different types of crimes.
But I would say that for our perpetrators and similar to Ed Kemper is that they're very good at putting on a mask and putting on appearances and blending in and allowing people to see what they want them to see.
