And for her to say, mum, you're doing the right thing.

And I thought, well, you know what?
If the one outcome is that I teach my daughters that you stick up for yourself and that don't let people underestimate you.
And sometimes doing the right thing is hard.

Everything else can.
And I can manage if everything else gets taken from me.
