So she was a supporter of me, but still in her 80s, as access to abortion in some areas are being wound back.
Like, for example, you can be a conscientious objector to wanting to carry out
and there are some regional towns in New South Wales close to where she grew up where you cannot access a doctor to get an abortion.
And so even though her triumphs are many and she supported another woman, it's also indicative of the fact that wins can be wound back.
And they're not necessarily clear victories.
And progress and change, there aren't these fixed addresses.
And so she's so incredible because she's continuing to advocate into her 80s, you know, something that she'd taken on much, much younger.
So that's one who had some clear wins, but also a demonstration that wins can be scaled back.
Is there one that maybe you relate to?
Yeah, I probably relate to a woman who sued Google for defamation twice and won.
And one of the things that she says to me is that,
They underestimated her, but she also hated the way she was cast aside as though she was worthless, as though she was a nuisance that just needed to be swatted away.
And not only did she sue Google twice, she did it without a lawyer because she ran out of money.
And so she ended up representing herself.
Wow.
Against Google.
Against Google.
And one of the main things that she says, the reasons she did it, A, yes, justice, but mainly because just that feeling when you get treated like absolute rubbish by a really large organisation and you're meant to just cop it and go away.
