So for item two, um, this is an amendment to the text of the county plan.
This is a clarification of the environmentally sensitive lands map that's part of the natural resource map series of the Boward County land use plan.
As you have become aware over the past probably eighteen months, um there's a conflict in the process.
The intent of this map is for planning purposes only, as the real uh either mitigation, the development of a site
falls in the county's licensing and permitting process through the land development code and not in the county plan.
So there's become this understanding or intention that the intent of the environmentally sensitive lands map is if you're on that map you're not permitted to develop the property, but that is not the case.
Licensing and permitting.
So we um you know through the Broward Next process initiated and expedited this this amendment.
clarify that process and this was done in coordination with the county attorney's office and the council attorney uh the draft of this text.
So what this text amendment would do would shift the process to maintaining this map for planning purposes only.
It um clarifies that licensing and permitting is where mitigation or conservation occurs.
And then the other piece of it is that um it it removes that the gravity of of what the public perception is um of the environmentally sensitive lapse.
