We met up and had a coffee and

And we started, we became, we called ourselves the Cancer Crushers.

And it was just a really cool landing space that we were actually experiencing the same stuff.

We were going through chemo.

We were feeling sick.

We were getting tired.

We were putting on weight.

We were getting the little fat cheeks from the steroids that we had to take.

That was really hard.

We were starting to lose our hair a little bit.

We didn't know what our future looked like.

We had children that we were worried about their future.

So Jackie and I kind of started it off.

Then another friend, Kirsten, who was amazing, and she then added to the group through another mutual friend.

And it was kind of like what happened with Jackie and I. I had a friend reach out to me, who was a mutual friend of Kirsten and I, saying, hey, my friend Kirsten's just been diagnosed with bowel cancer.

she would really benefit from talking to you, I think.

And so I reached out to her.

I was like, hey, Kirsten.

She then became my little stoma buddy in the end as well because she ended up with a colostomy bag before me.

She is doing exceptionally well.
