There's a lot happening during your time at Abbotsford Convent.
You're going to church, you're going to school, you know, all of these activities.
You're cleaning, making sure there's no streaks on the tiles for the nuns to walk on.
But you also had an opportunity at one point to dance for the Queen.
Tell me about that day.
Oh, that's very kind of you.
So you got the sixpence of lollies, but that means you also got to dance at the MCG.
That's extraordinary.
What a memory.
It was priceless.
And while you and your sisters were living at Abbotsford Convent, did your dad come to visit you often?
Yeah, it's an icon of Melbourne.
Eventually, your dad did come to take you home.
How old were you and Elaine by then?
Once you got home, back home, and I say home with quotations of Marcus Aranda because it really wasn't your home.
You were a visitor at best.
But when you were finally able to leave Abbotsford Convent and go and live with your father, with your sisters, your stepmother, your half-brother, how did that feel?
