Cassini shows up at this serious competition with a tiki style drink that is built on gin and then layers in passion fruit syrup and falernum and roja and citrus fruits.

So you've got this tropical fruit spice and

No, yeah.

Nutty richness.

It is so tiki.

Like this thing is unmistakably tiki.

No, because rum goes along with all this stuff too.

You know, like rum and tropical flavors, those all go together.

This guy's just like, I'm going to do gin.

So he, well, I think what ended up happening was, is he's like, everybody else is zigging.

I'm going to zag.

So while the whole world is revolving tiki around rum, he's like, I'm going to stand out in this competition and do a tiki drink with gin.

And lo and behold, it definitely stood out.

So, you know, why didn't it become the next Mai Tai then?

Like if it was such a great competition drink, why did this thing not end up all over the place?

Yeah, Brad's a little embarrassed.

So unlike some of the other tiki hits, it doesn't show up all over major books and tiki chain restaurant menus, you know, in those decades that followed.

So it's not really everywhere that say like a zombie was or a Mai Tai, right?

It seems to have made its way around, you know, the competition circuits.

And that was like, you know, maybe kind of like, you know, that kind of traded hands a little bit and people riffed on it that way, but not necessarily in the restaurants.
