So if you're doing a hundred miles after 12, 14, 15, 16 hours, people will take a nap.

Some longer than others, some will take 20 minutes, some will do an hour, some will do two hours, and then they'll start running after.

Where I don't generally do that, I try and just power through for a couple of reasons.

One, I

Find it mentally easier to just power through.

Um, and two, I know that caffeine has a very positive effect on me.

I joked at the top of the podcast I took a cup of coffee today and it hasn't done anything.

But normally when I'm not in a jet lag state, which I suppose I was in a bit of a jet lag state, but anyways, it did work on Saturday, I caffeine hits me quite hard.

Um, I don't take caffeine late in the day because I'm such a reactor to caffeine, um, positive and negative.

Like if I

If I go too high and take two or three cups of coffee, like I think the fucking walls are talking about me, like my anxiety just ramps up.

So I have to kind of keep it quite dose or have to keep quite a low dose during the day, even on regular days.

But using it in these events will keep me awake.

I know for a fact if I take a caffeine tablet 15-16 hours into a race, it's gonna keep me awake and I'm gonna be fine.

So I saved for 50

Mile 50, I took my first caffeine tablet, and then I took another two between mile 15 and a mile 100 over the space of the next several hours.

So up until mile 80, I could see the leaderboard, and there was I think 38 altogether.

I thought it was 35 on the day.

When I finished the race, they said there were 35 competitors.

But when I look back on the leaderboard after there were 38 people, and I could see the leaderboard as I was coming through.
