I had a similar issue in the desert when we were running at night time.
Because if you think about the heat in the Sahara during the day, you know, it can go upwards of 40 degrees.
But at night time, it's nearly the polar opposite and it's freezing at night time.
And what happened when I was running the long stage, which is 86 kilometers, it took me nearly 24 hours.
I would have been sweating during the day from the heat.
But then when the cold came and the night dropped, I...
when I stopped to refuel or get some water, my body started to shake and I started to shiver.
And there was medics in the Sahara and they said, you need to just keep moving.
They were like, if you stay here, you're going to get hypothermia.
You need to keep moving.
And I had to kind of keep going until the sun came back up.
And then I was able to kind of calm myself back down again.
And my body kind of regulated its core temperature.
You don't have that luxury in the Arctic.
That was what makes it so difficult.
Somebody asked me,
when they asked what was harder, the Arctic or the Sahara, the Arctic is so much harder because of the conditions.
You can't rest at any stage.
You don't get a rest.
It's too dangerous and it's too cold.
