Sure.
So this, as I view it, is essentially the Senate trying to get in on the action when it comes to Epstein.
Right.
Because we had a lot of stuff going on in the House with Democrats forcing votes in various committees, making a lot of noise about this, frankly, grinding business to a halt.
You know, at the end of last week, Johnson sent lawmakers home a little bit early because they didn't want to keep taking votes on Epstein.
And so, you know, what I see this as is Schumer is trying to sort of get in on the action here and get Senate Democrats more involved.
And so he sent this letter today with a few other members.
It's sort of I believe it's five or more members of the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee.
They sent a letter to the administration basically asking for them to release any information pertaining to.
the Epstein's case and other documents that may be connected to Epstein and his clients that have been identified by the DOJ and FBI.
You know, will it work?
I don't know.
It's a rarely used thing, and I believe it has been challenged before.
My guess is that this ends up in court.
Similar to what we were just talking about, the administration is willing to test the limits of its authority and its power.
I don't think that they're simply going to comply with this because there's a rule of five that exists in an obscure part of the law.
I'm sure they'll fight it every way or fight it every step of the way, assuming they don't just decide to release Epstein related materials, release the Epstein files on their own volition.
But it's a way for at least Schumer to keep Epstein and the Epstein issue in the conversation.
You know, I don't think anyone really knows what's in those files.
I mean, folks at the FBI and DOJ, I presume do, right?
