So when I got a chance to present, I was pretty clear that, okay, this is the process.

So I was that, that's how far I suppose down the track I was with preparation.

And I did all that probably a year before I presented.

or throughout the year at the very most.

So I'm not sure if anyone's doing that, but definitely, and this was 10 years ago or 15 years ago, so maybe it's changed a little bit with these assistant coaches who a lot of them have been around for a long period of time.

So I'm making the assumption they're all ready to go and well prepared.

And if they get a knock on the door, that it won't be that much of a distraction from their current job.

Yeah, I don't think that was around the 22, 20, I don't know, when did Fly get the job?

Because I think that's the job he might have gone for.

But we were out of contention and I think this is post-season, so it wasn't the same.

Don Pike got the Adelaide job.

and I'm not sure how that all played.

So I can't remember.

All I do remember is the CEO knocking on my door and said, listen, I've had a phone call from Collingwood or from Adelaide.

One of your boys is up for the position.

And it's not like you give him permission.

That's not – he didn't need my blessing or anything like that.

I know I heard Justin Longmire say that and he said it in a way that he hasn't got a problem with it and no one ever does.

unless they think you're not ready.

And then, you know, that research is probably done before they get to you through other avenues.
