Often we actually feel like we want to hide behind, you know, and stay in our little bubble and not actually share that.
But I think actually you sharing your experience in that way, I can almost guarantee it will help at least one other person, no doubt more.
Yeah.
to actually know that they aren't alone if they are feeling like that, that they don't have to solve it today, tomorrow, but even just taking those small little moments as what you say, writing down, appreciating the sunshine.
So I just want to say thank you.
It's amazing as well that I guess so much of society and the messages that we too often get, it's like, right, female, your role is to be a mother in life.
And, you know, once you've got that job done and you should feel fulfilled and you should feel all these amazing things.
And as you say, there can be that moment down the path and you're going, okay, I'm a mom.
is this like I don't want to say this is it but this is you know and you're like oh no that's no one piece of the jigsaw puzzle but it's not all of me and it's often that identity shift that we're going through of re-evaluating who we are and motherhood is one element of it but as you're saying you need something for yourself to fill your own cup.
Yeah.
What was that like for you coming to that realization that this motherhood, as hard as what we work to get at it and to become pregnant and things like that, but
it doesn't need to define us of a hundred percent of who we are.
It's just one part of the cake.
Like what was that process?
Obviously you've gone through a lot of, for yourself of that self-discovery and no doubt over the last four years, again, even rediscovering so much more of yourself and doing a lot more work.
What was it like for you going, oh my goodness, this is exactly what I've been searching for.
There's also a lot of what you're saying is also our internal voice and our internal storytelling, that voice and our inner critic, which is often our own worst nightmare of saying, no, you can't do this or you shouldn't do that and how are you going to make it?
It's amazing how much our internal voice can actually prevent us from doing so much.
So just on that, what were some key strategies that you used to help you out of those two significant black holes that you've had since becoming a mum?
I think it's important to recognise that you've sought help, that you haven't thought that you can solve it all, but I think it's so important.
