And it's like, yes, the glitz and the glamour is the idea.
But then when you come down a rung, where is the T10s, is a T20 tournament created by somebody you don't know.
On one hand, you're either a young player looking for
our shopping window.
So Mitchell Owen would have played in Cayman last year.
Myself and Clint St.
Hill, we were just like, every time you walk out the back, we just sat next to each other, tapping each other, waiting to see what's going to happen.
With balling, honey balls, a heavy ball, and we were just like, yeah, this little man destined for good things.
Didn't expect 12 months later, he'd be really used and doing what he's doing.
But that is the type of shop window that franchise can provide.
And then there's people like myself who,
getting on closer to the end and the beginning, but you're trying to keep yourself in shape.
You're trying to make a dollar and you're trying to get in the shop window of these other tournaments, albeit at potentially a lower level.
So everyone there has something to play for.
Unfortunately, there is the dark arts as well, where some of these team owners just buying into the tournament to be able to match fix.
And then as a result, if the match
then there's no money to pay the players that aren't match fixing to kind of do your duty.
And it becoming a real stain on the game because I experienced Cayman and Cayman is not a big cricketing hub of sorts.
so the people that are from jamaica from the caribbean from india the expats love cricket there's still cricket being played and whatnot but not to the highest level but over the two years that i was there i also interacted with so many people who have not seen cricket before that tournament happened in cayman and then they were just like this cool
rounders and then you start crooked for dummies type of thing trying to explain and the first thing you gotta caveat it with is this is probably the hardest game to explain um but you're introducing people to your sport and it's a sport that we love that we're passionate about so then when they aren't paid vendors aren't paid potential new fans aren't paid then they brush everybody in the sport with the same brush that they did with
