He is an improving play caller.

I think at the beginning of the season, some issues with

you know, kind of out of timeouts and even like inbounding the ball, there was a two week stretch where they had the hardest time doing that.

And, you know, they, they were able to work through things and figure some stuff out.

And then defensively, that's really where I was probably the most impressed with Tiago this season, you know, in Portland, uh,

You know, it's been a an issue defensively, you know, going back to when Terry Stotts was the head coach, you know, a team that was usually I think if they finished 20 defensive efficiency, that would have been a good season for Portland last year, a full court, 94 feet pressing style of defense.

Particularly early on in the season before they had injuries, the guys like Blake Wesley, guys like Drew Holiday, you know, really worked well.

They were pressing and causing turnovers and forcing other teams to play fast and were really having a lot of success with that style of play.

And then they had the injuries and they were down.

They basically didn't have a point guard for two months of the season.

Then he obviously steps into that role with the confidence that Tiago, I think, helped give him.

turned into an all-star, you know?

And that's something that I think you have to give, you know, the coaching staff, including Thiago, a lot of credit for the way that they were able to shape Denny into a guy who, again, got to the rim, got to put his head down, got to the free throw line, shot three-pointers, played the style of basketball they wanted to play offensively.

And then the improvement on defense, I believe that Blazers finished, I think, I think maybe 15th or 12th in defensive efficiency this season, which...

So I think you're going to.

You're going to see a guy who's taken a lot of the principles of kind of new style NBA basketball, made some tweaks to them.

A lot of the stuff that worked for him in Paris, I think he's tried to implement in the NBA.

So you're going to see a different style of basketball than you saw from Billy Donovan.

But I think, you know, there's probably going to be some bumps along the way.

But I was really impressed by the way that Thiago grew as a tactician as the season went on.
