You know, just discussing one issue at a time is really important.

Lots of couples bring in multiple issues and it's just overwhelming.

You can't resolve anything.

And when you're talking with your partner, really using behavior that's very calming, such as close proximity, you know, sitting or standing close to your partner, using touch, holding their hands, looking in their eyes, using a soft, gentle voice will often give much better outcomes to arguments as opposed to yelling at them across

the room, which is very threatening for us and will often activate the primitive brain.

I think, Nat, in this case, you need to be assertive with your partner and say, look,

We've been with each other 24-7.

I need a bit of space.

I'd like to suggest that we just do separate things this afternoon.

Let's come back for dinner.

And that can be a very healthy thing to do, just to have a bit of space, to get some alone time.

And of course, when you come back together, you're going to be glad to see your partner.

You're going to enjoy their company even more.

So it's important to raise it in an assertive way, but not in a way that you're rejecting them or putting them down.

It's just about this is something I need to really help enjoy my time with you even more.

Well, this is like any relationship.

When you have differences, you have to find a way to compromise because if you're just going to have it your way, that's not a relationship.

So it is an important skill for all couples to be able to find a way to

to solve problems in a way and come up with solutions that work for both parties.

So just to say to your partner, look, I'm never going to travel too bad, you need to get over it, that's not going to work.
