It's about making sure that payment doesn't get stuck in the system, if you like, and that's where instant really comes into its own.
Other things we've seen in 2025, lots of conversation around requests for pay.
I think we've got a little ways to go there.
That's going to be one that we keep an eye on for a good while yet, but it continues to try and get traction.
And along with pay-by-bank,
It's a key way that merchants can start to engage with instant payments.
They can be paid using the instant rail.
Both of those are really in their earliest stages of adoption still.
And the U.S.
shouldn't feel left out there.
That's pretty much true of a lot of markets globally as we work across the world on instant payments.
And sure enough, there are hotspots of excellence.
Asia, Malaysia, Indonesia, India.
and indeed brazil have seen a big pickup in those but there are plenty of mature markets for instant payments that have not been able to get to that place where requests for pay and pay by bank are just everyday activity for everybody um in the u.s the merchants are
are a lot more interested in instant payments in 2026 than I think, excuse me, in 2025 than they were in 2024 and 23.
And they'll be even more interested in 2026.
We should recognize that we can roll out instant payments in an e-commerce environment actually pretty easily.
If you think about it, the user, the consumer,
has probably registered their details already in that e-commerce site.
So to actually connect them up and their mobile to a request for pay, pretty easy to do.
