Little picture into our future in life of who's going to be calling and asking for money in college.
So, yeah, but that's pretty much how we do it.
I don't know that that's the right way to do it.
There's various ways that lots of folks do it.
I think figuring out the amount can be kind of tough.
You kind of just have to pick something that works.
And then you have to really assess, you know, what are they spending money on?
What are you spending on?
Stuff like that.
And, yeah, what am I missing?
I think one of the benefits we've seen a little bit is, and this has just kind of happened more recently, is our kids starting to understand cost versus value.
And so a lot of times, like with a lot of ones, sometimes they'll be like, oh, I can buy something at the dollar store and I can get something and it's cheap or inexpensive rather, but it's also cheap in this case.
And I just want something.
and i have enough money so i'll get it but they've started to learn which is really cool that the cheap things are often very uh low quality right very quickly like they'll buy something from the dollar store and uh within a week it's just broken and trashed basically and so as a parent that's that was actually pretty tough early on with our allowance because we're like oh that stinks your toy broke and i know you really liked it and i'm a big softy so i was like
How can we solve that problem for you?
And then we started realizing it's not our problem to solve.
They need to start to learn and understand what they spend money on has inherent value.
And if they do save up and spend money on something nice, like their Legos never break.
They lose them, but they pretty much never break.
Or, you know, other quality things.
