You have to continue to improve.
And so far this year, it's mostly felt like either a stagnation or a slight step back.
And I know that that's made some people really frustrated.
Well, gosh, I mean, without being too negative, as a Mariners fan, I think I'm allowed to kind of view things as glass half empty a little bit.
I feel like this is a pretty special ability that this team has, what I think any major league franchise would kill for, which is six at least average to above average to really good major league starting pitchers who are healthy and somehow turn that into a point of controversy because they really haven't settled on how they want to handle this.
As soon as Bryce Miller came back healthy and he's probably been the best starter they've had since he's come back.
They've kind of just gone back and forth between an idea of a six man rotation, this piggyback where they were doing for a little while when Miller first got back.
And now to your point, it's a, it's a quote unquote rotating piggyback.
And you just talked about what they're going to do this weekend.
Well,
Maybe they will.
But last week, last Saturday, we had a scheduled piggyback with Logan Gilbert and I think Luis Castillo.
And they just woke up that morning and said, no, we're not going to do that.
Logan Gilbert's going to pitch, I guess.
And then I'm the communication and the way that it's all been handled has been very hodgepodge and very slapdash.
It's felt like it doesn't feel like they really have a plan for how they're going to deal with this.
I don't think it's going to be a problem long term because I think at the end of the day, they will probably end up making a change.
through the trade market to acquire more offense.
But until they do so, it's a really good problem to have, but it still feels like it's been more of a roster crunch for them than you think it should.
And then you look in the minor leagues and they have last year's number three overall draft pick Kate Anderson, who's one of the best starting pitchers in minor league baseball.
