Well, with my little afro, with my hand on my hips, with, you know, playing with my sister and her girlfriends on the porch of our little shotgun house.

So it just sort of reminded me of that.

Well, I have a photo of me and my mother at a family reunion.
And I'm literally in my shorts and my raggedy old T-shirt with my hand on my hip.
And, you know.
it was appropriate because that was the way I stood a lot.
But my mother always supported me.
And it's really interesting that I never suffered from any of the trauma that many gay men and women suffer from growing up or, you know, having to, quote, unquote, come out.
I mean, you and I have friends who's coming out
required thousands of dollars of psychiatric and therapy and family counseling and all sorts of things.
