in a world in which they could never have imagined the freedom and security that we have.
And so give them their props.
You know, there are days when Beulah makes me crazy, but I give Beulah her props because raising four kids by herself
having been married to an abusive person, and having the capacity to overcome poverty, being a single mother, having minimum education, and yet being so clear about her children's futures.
And doing all she could, even though Beulah couldn't tell me what was the better college or what my major should be or any such thing.
