So the people are voting extreme right and extreme left.
And of course, what that means is the profound decimation of the center.
The center that has run Germany since the Second World War, largely the CDU, the Christian Democratic Union,
Which has been the party of government, in effect, almost like the Tories in England.

Like your Fianna Fáil, Fianna Gael coalitions here have always been the Christian Democratic Union, of which the most celebrated recent leader was Angela Merkel, who many people think is actually to blame for what's going on.
And the collapse also of the SPD, the Social Democratic Party.
So there's all sorts of things in the mix, but that's where it is.
It's right in the center of Germany, pretty much a poor part of...
Eastern Germany subsumed into the new United Germany in 1990.
And as a result of its geography has suffered more migration out of it because it has been closer to, or it was physically closer to, more proximate to the much more prosperous West Germany.
So that's where it is.
what we see all over the world is young males are leaning right wing and young women are leaning left wing.
