I I fought this m guy from Mauritius, uh Kennedy Saint Pierre, and uh I'd I I fought really hard all the way up to that fight.

And that was my fifth fight in about ten days.

Uh and my sh I remember warming up, I like had I felt so not ready to fight in terms of I was so sore and he had knocked everybody out.

leading up to that to our final.

Uh I got on the I got on the podium and that was uh I I was like overcome with emotion and I wear my heart on my sleeve.

My mom and dad were there.

Mum and dad were there.

I'm proud of that, yeah, yeah.

I'm proud of that.

Yeah, yeah.

And um uh I I think I won a lot of fans uh at that at that tournament and um fast forward four years to the Gold Coast it was a it was different because I

I ex I was expecting to win.

I was like, oh no, like anything less than a gold right here would be a step backwards, you know.

Yeah.

So for me, uh I I I overcame plenty of adversity in that in that uh tournament.

You know, I I turn I turned up with a staph infection.

I was on antibiotics for about six weeks, um, and then fought the likes of like Chevron Clark, uh a top Australian, uh an Indian.

I d I didn't get a an easy draw, but uh yeah, it was a uh it was a another hard fought tournament for sure.

Oh, so so we had the we were on the opposite end of the spectrum because I remember I was a really good runner, really, really good runner from a young age.

And um I took it up because I was good at it and I enjoyed it.
