Uh, and it was when I hit about twelve or thirteen, I remember uh running the intercountry schools uh eight hundred meters.
And um there was a kid that I that uh that I knew was fast.
He was a really good sprinter, but he kind of developed his man strength.
He developed his man strength when he was like twelve.
And I remember going into the eight hundred, I was like, this is my event.
This is my event, I'll win this hands down.
No worries.
And I got pushed by this big man child and I was like, um I can't.
Did he have the full grown beard?
I can't remember.
But I just remember uh I I lost a bit of hope in that time.
I was like, man, like um
Uh this doesn't f seem fair at all 'cause I was I was like I was a child all the way through high school and like I kind of I became a smaller person during that time.
Uh like I I kind of
collapsed in on myself because uh I didn't have the same confidence that I had.
I was quite a out outgoing kid through primary and intermediate and then I hit high school and and then uh everyone kinda grew up around me and I kind of I tried to kind of disappear a little bit.
Like um my my uh report cards I in my report cards was uh school of two thousand one hundred boys.
I was the quiet and conscientious learner, which I knew meant they didn't know who I was.
They couldn't remember who I was.
like and I was quite happy with that 'cause it meant that, you know, I could skip school and uh just slip under the radar, you know.
