And I think that helps me to offer them grace now.

There was a point where I just couldn't offer them grace because of the damage.

And some of them, I had not invited them into my life in that capacity.

They just would come up to me and say, honey, which is common in the black community, the big mamas, the aunties, you know, that if you're an elder, you can pull a young woman to the side.

And so there were people in the church that would pull me to the side and

My body was a distraction.

And again, I would be confused.

I was an athlete.

So most of the times, unless it was a Sunday, I had on a T-shirt and jeans or basketball shorts.

And so it was just very confusing as to what was the problem.

Those messages are really powerful.

When I speak to this day, similar, I will FaceTime a close friend and I will, what does this dress look like?

What does this dress look like?

And they'll tell me like, oh, it's fine.

Like that one's fine.

And I'm like, no, I think you can see too much on my bottom.
