And she's always like, you're curvy unless you put on like a sack.
And even with a sack on, we don't notice you.
And so it's hard because those messages are there.
And there is in some ways a part of me that I fight to keep quiet that believes if I can't pull that in.
It's going to be a hindrance.
I won't be able to fulfill this purpose that God has on my life unless I can pull that in.
So I fight that every time I speak.
When I go somewhere and minister, the moment I get to the stage and I'm opening up my mouth, the first couple of minutes, there's this battle between me and the Holy Spirit because I'm aware.
And it's a long battle to try to silence that voice that just my existence is a problem.
And I think you said something earlier, I can't remember exactly what it was, but it gave me the thought of how you, for me, the church, I needed it to be the relief from the sexual messages that I had received throughout my life, from as early as six, all the way up through teenage years and college years, how much the world had already sexualized me and how much of the culture changed.
And other people had already sexualized me.
I needed the church to be different.
I needed the church to be safe.
But they sexualized me in a way that said, cover it up.
The world said, let me see it.
The church said, cover it up.
And so the church wasn't safe for me either.
No, it shamed you.
Yeah.
Yeah, I hope that little girls, teenagers, whatever age, grown women, I don't care, who are curvy, who have those traditional African features.
