And that I've practiced is like one Saturday a month, I will literally put into my Google calendar, no plans, like no plans day, or even a full weekend once a month or whatever.
Like Saturday for a while it was Saturday afternoons for me that was like my Sabbath time.
I made no plans one Saturday afternoon, you know, every few weeks, or for a while it was most Saturday afternoons, where from 12 to five on Saturdays, or even after 1pm on Saturdays, I would not make plans.
And it was literally just time to tune in and ask myself, what do I need?
Sometimes it was yoga.
Sometimes it was going on a walk with a friend.
Sometimes it was staying home and literally laying on the couch.
Sometimes it's crafting.
Like you get to decide.
Rest does not have to be I'm sitting and doing nothing.
I'm sitting and doing nothing.
There's this concept within acceptance and commitment training, which I love.
And it's this idea of recharging ourselves, not by sitting and doing nothing, right?
Where it's like a phone charger where you have to plug it in and then it charges.
Or if it's not plugged in, it's not charging.
More of this windmill visual, which I just love, where there are certain things that we're going to do.
that create more energy, that are restful and nourishing and feel really good, but they're technically exerting energy.
So for example, notice how sometimes after you hang out with a friend, you feel energized, right?
Like your cup just feels so full, you feel psyched, you're like energized and ready.
And even though you technically were outputting energy, you feel refreshed.
