Okay, it depends on your parenting style.
But I think that in general, having the candidness of saying, you know, these are things that I've worked on and I'm still figuring them out.
And so if you see me do one of these things, you know, kind of giving them permission to talk about it.
And of course, depending on the age of your child, this conversation is gonna look really differently.
But I think
it's the openness and age appropriate openness.
Um, I'll often help parents try to figure out, like, um, let's just say for example, if the parents are going
uh through a separation?
How do they talk about that with their child in a way that helps them feel informed, contained, um, but not overshare?
So I would say be open, be open in a developmentally appropriate way.
And then if you're ready for this, help them be part of the healing.
Um and so allowing them to say, oh, I think that's your anxiety talking, for example.
And you can give them phrases so they know how to say it.
Um and you know, the the humor.
I think humor is huge.
Humor can be that universal language, even with our teenagers.
I have a teenager and preteen now.
And so it's like that's sometimes our saving grace.
Granted, they don't even they often don't think what I think is funny is funny, but I find that funny.
And so, you know, just trying to come up with like the laughter in it, um, you know, that the calling it a monster, you know, giving it a name.
