And also would really try to encourage you and all of us parents out there to try to be open to that compliment, to that feedback, to that acknowledgement of our strengths.
And what I've seen is that even if in the beginning it doesn't feel comfortable.
through repeat exposure to get kind of psychol psychological in the terms, you know, to to s to that it will it will be integrated.
It can be part of our identity.
Um and I've seen that shift.
And it's really amazing for parents because you know, I think there's a lot of hard jobs out there.
Parenting is top one percent for me.
Um and so
really trying to help parents as take care of themselves.
I know it sounds very cliche, but there's such truth with that because when we do that, we help ourselves, but no doubt we help our children because they both see it through modeling.
Um and you know, as your listeners might be aware, with neurodiversity, that co-regulation between how the parent shows up and how that child responds is
huge.
Um and you can't really fake it, you know.
children, youth in general, they sniff it out when we're not being authentic and then they reject what we're show giving them.
And so if we can really practice what we preach, kind of regulate our own nervous systems, um, again, not easy, but if we can do that, it really can help.
Um I'll also say though, it's not about being perfect.
Uh, we can make mistakes.
And then, if we're able to openly talk about them, let's go back to the strength.
I think that's a strength.
that then it's like showing our children, okay, I'm trying to figure this out real time.
