You know, literally metaphorically to the altar.

and are gonna spend a substantial portion of their lives or all of their lives without having their own children, you know, having a you know a kind of posterity.

You could argue I think

maybe in nineteen fifty-five, for instance, that America or the church was too inclined to make an idol of the nuclear family, for instance.

But to be frank though, I also think the people who are now making that argument

you know, are a little bit naive.

Like that's not our problem.

You know, like our problem is that we have, you know, millions and millions of people who are sh who are either discounting marriage entirely or who are kind of really struggling to find someone who would be a good spouse, you know, and a good parent for them down the road.

Yeah, I mean I think certainly some communities and some churches really only have a place for married folks.

But I think, you know, many churches now have kind of moved on from that and and are incorporating

you know, singles into a broader array of the life of the church.

But we still have a long way to go in terms of

Helping churches and helping religious communities um minister in more concrete ways to people who are single.

No question about that.

Yes, I just kinda kinda put a pin on on your observation.

We did a report recently finding that about two thirds of young adults who are not married um are are not dating in any kind of serious relationship.

And a large minority of people

uh talking with Pew about their dating orientation or sort of saying that they're steering clear of dating, you know.

So there's just a lot of I think heartache, heartbreak, and a lot of frustration out there when it comes to dating relationships.
