But here we are.
It's like, so what does this country look like after Donald Trump?
He cannot stay here forever, as much as he would like to imagine that.
And we've seen his health decline, as Amisha said, before our very eyes.
We can pretend that we can ignore how he's talking to journalists, how he's talking to women.
I mean, he's always talked to women this way.
But, you know, in the press corps, in his rambling speeches, whether they're
you know, in front of, you know, dignitaries or just in the Oval Office.
So the list goes on and on.
I think the question is, how do we rebuild and what do we reimagine in this American democracy as fragile as it may be?
Because we're going to need real leadership.
We've seen Congress abdicate their own power.
Article 1 of the Constitution states,
are the powers of Congress.
And we've seen the Republican Party hand them over whole cloth to this president.
We've seen the Supreme Court hand over their powers to the presidency.
So I think the hard conversation will be, in a post-Trump world, how do we reimagine what this democracy looks like?
Some people say we need to level set and go back to the status quo.
And other folks say, well, if he just disrupted and pulled it up by the roots, why can't we build something new?
And that's where the hard conversation is going to come in, because we know we've got a lot of status quo Democrats who don't want to actually push the envelope largely due to their donors and the moderate wing of the Democratic Party.
