Sure.

So in this study, we looked at neighborhood conditions and also, you know, family environment.

And there's just a general sense of just how unpredictable and reliable are the people in your life,

important resources that you need to survive, like, you know, food and safety.

And, and ultimately a lot of people who study this, you know, cross species, look at mortality risk and mortality rates and, you know, what's the chance that you're going to die, you know, over time from, from unpredictable causes.

So that's, that's the big theme.

Like,

Is life, is the environment the important things you need to survive and thrive?

Are those things stable or are they unpredictable?

Right.

Well, we're taking an evolutionary perspective and that means that we're looking at how people have adapted to environments, both over evolutionary time and within their own lifetime.

And the big theme here is about predictability and stability, because

If you have a predictable, stable environment, then you can plan for the future, right?

You can take long-term strategies, you know, you have an idea of what's going to happen.

But if your environment is not predictable, if you can't rely on things or other people, then you tend to have shorter-term strategies and what we consider riskier strategies.

And these are, you know, these are all related to things that, you know, people care about and we place a lot of value on these things.

You know, so for example, people who grew up in less predictable environments don't save as much money for retirement in the future.

You know, that's another outcome that's important in life.

And we have a value judgment on that.
