What we're looking at is adaptations that made sense in the environments that we evolved in over, you know, hundreds of thousands or even, you know, millions of years.
So it makes sense in an evolutionary way.
But if you have an unstable, unpredictable environment, you can't really plan effectively for the future as much.
So you try to get it out, you know, while you can.
So you have, you know, shorter term riskier strategies, and that relates to things.
um you know both in you know the resource domain and also relationship domain so your romantic or intimate relationships might also not be as stable because you might always be looking for you know the next thing basically you don't know that your relationship is going to last uh you know your partner you know may leave or they may even die so
you know, you're, you're keeping an eye out and maybe even whether consciously or not, um, you know, have a, have a, have a, you know, strategy that, you know, you're actually attuned to looking for new relationships.
Right.
Yeah.
You know, we could technical term, we call it mating effort, um,
you know, seeking, you know, so seeking new, you know, intimate, romantic or sexual relationships.
Right, right.
And it, and it makes sense.
And to tell you the truth, it could be a feedback loop because, you know, if you, if you, you, if you're doing this and your partner knows it, then of course you might have more relationship conflict.
You know, if they think, you know, you're too flirtatious or you're not as loyal to me, or they can see signs that, you know, you might be thinking of straying, you know, that can certainly lead to conflict and decrease in relationship satisfaction.
Yeah, well, wearing flashy clothes, be interested in other people, maybe even trying to poach a partner from some other relationship.
So all these things that single people might use to try to get a new partner, certainly somebody who's already in a relationship.
You know, if we have expectations that that's going to be a monogamous, stable relationship, right, that's not something that, you know, people should be doing.
Be aware of it.
Be aware of it.
