There's a couple of things.
See I went on my tangent and now my executive functioning lost the first part of what I wanted to say.
So
I think that couples, when they first start nesting with each other, before kids, before marriage for the most part, right, they're very couple centered.
And the research shows that couple centered marriages tend to work better than career centered or child centered or friend centered or any other centeredness.
But
When you have a high needs kid, you have to focus on them, right?
They need a little extra attention, a little extra care, and sometimes it can feel like you're depleted then to bring anything back into the marriage.
And so what I often, you know, tell couples is
That's a necessary component.
If you want to have a successful marriage, you need to invest in it.
That means investing time, investing energy and other resources.
And if you don't have quantity of time, you absolutely need to have quality time.
And that if the only time you you have is you sit down at night and you argue with each other, well who wants to be in that marriage?
That sounds awful.
So sometimes that means kind of structurally reorganizing the family.
Are there grandparents or babysitters or do you have, you know, means to do like a
you know, occasional camps or overnights with the kids so that you two can have time alone.
That needs to be very intentional.
Because early in the relationship you kind of accidentally fall into couples time.
