We don't know.
We don't know.
I mean, it's probably to do with the gut microbiome.
I mean, again, we're at the bottom of the mountain of like, we have a mountain of research to do there about the gut microbiome.
I think you hear about it everywhere.
And wellness warriors are taught telling you exactly which strain of which bacteria you should be taking in your probiotic to achieve blah outcomes.
or which strain of beetroot you should be juicing to get blah outcome from your microbiome.
We don't know any of that stuff yet.
We're starting to map certain patterns in certain people, but that is changed by your genes, your race, your diet.
what latitude and longitude you live at, the air you breathe.
Your gut microbiome interacts with your skin.
It interacts with your heart.
You have a microbiome chockers full in your bladder.
When I went to uni, we got told that there were no bugs in your bladder, that any bug appearing in your urine was nothing
a problem that's a urine infection we now know your your bladder your vagina breast milk is chockers full of not just bacteria it's viruses it's it's fungi it's protozoa all working in harmony to do good things for your body and we are at the bottom of a very steep learning curve so anyone who tells you that they can sell you x supplement or x probiotic to do anything
is over-egging that cookie dough.
Look, studies show that a diet high in processed foods, especially the ultra-processed foods, and really hard to get a good definition of that, but it's kind of if you look at the label and none of it is an ingredient you are familiar with that would be at the front of your Safeway supermarket.
You probably get it more in a lab.
If that is what you're eating...
we know that those people have a very reduced number of different types of bacteria, which are the easiest things to measure in the guts.
