Pelvic organ prolapse, which is when you have your organs start to kind of descend into the vaginal canal.
Sounds very scary, but it's due to weakness or even things like a hernia or an abdominal separation.
So, again, pressure is going to want to find the path of least resistance in your body.
And when you're straining, it's going to go down towards the vaginal opening in women typically.
Well, that's my job, right?
As a pelvic floor therapist, I'm like a coach for your pelvic floor.
So, you know, I have an app available called the V-Hive app where it teaches you how to do these pelvic floor strengthening exercises at home.
It teaches you how to poop properly.
It also teaches you how to pee properly.
So when peeing is another thing where we, I call it power peeing.
You like push as hard as you can to empty your bladder.
Again, something that can weaken your pelvic floor muscles.
So sit, chill while you're peeing.
You don't need to use the squatty potty for that.
But these things that we're doing every day can affect our pelvic floor muscles over time.
Just like if you pick up something wrong over and over again, you could strain your back.
same thing can happen to your pelvic floor.
So yes, you can strengthen it.
That's our job as pelvic floor therapists.
And then we teach you all the tips and tools to kind of maintain this strength throughout a lifetime.
