Sorry, I th all these examples are coming to mind because balance really operates in ways that we have control over it, but in many unexpected ways where we just expect it to happen.
And none of those feel like balance exercises.
Uh but every single one of 'em depends on balance.
So that's what makes balance, I think, so fascinating.
It isn't a single skill.
And it doesn't involve or belong to a single part of the body or or body part.
It's a result again of multiple systems working together.
In tandem, continuously in sync.
Your muscles, your joints, your eyes are involved.
Everything contributes, including your inner ear.
Your nervous system is collecting information, um, interpreting it and making tiny adjustments.
to keep you upright and moving through the world with obstacles in the way, I like to think of it.
Um, so most of this happens seamlessly.
You don't even notice it.
You just go.
But again.
Like we were talking about before with the the fall potential.
Until we challenge it.
And one of the simplest ways to challenge it in a productive
training type of way is to stand on one leg.
