And I was doing a little, maybe not binge watching, but I've been watching periodically the um Netflix hit um Grace and Frankie, Frankie and Grace, um, with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.
And there was a storyline.
One of the storylines involved a crossing walk timing and older adults trying to make it safely across the street and advocacy for changing the stoplight.
The episode was hilarious.
But it totally worked because it's so familiar.
Most of us immediately understand when we see something like that what's at stake there.
And when you put the comedy angle to it, you realize it really is an important consideration in real life.
So taken together, I mean, uh the pop culture aside, but the studies really do suggest something important.
So walking speed really isn't merely about speed now we know, but it's really a reflection of our function and how we function.
So the ability to move through the world requires all of these things as we've been talking about strength and balance, coordination, mobility, endurance, awareness.
And of course, confidence.
