Yeah, that was really useful.
And so I think that even when I'm on a very low dose of medicine or even when I've come off Prozac because I don't like some of the side effects, that has been really...
life-changing skill it's actually made me think a lot about emotional regulation which I should have thought about earlier in my life given I'm 44 but it's like it's so important and ADHD and PMDD are very comorbid they're like partners I think it's like 30% of people love each other with ADHD yeah I like my psychologist she described as being like a vulnerable brain and I was like yeah that's so true great so anyone else want to come into the party um
Yeah, I think it made me really and potentially unfairly at times skeptical of the treatment that I was being given.
And I think this is actually a real risk for the medical industry.
I believe in medicine.
I believe that we should get vaccinated.
I believe that science has done amazing things for our world.
But if we continue to treat women with this medical misogyny, you're going to get a whole lot of women who don't feel listened to, they don't feel heard, their very real symptoms and side effects are being ignored, and they're going to stop trusting, rightly so, medical institutions.
And so if the medical industry doesn't actually...
really up its game and start listening to women, treating them, you're going to have a whole bunch of people who completely lose trust in these systems.
And I think that's really scary.
That's like telling someone you're wrong for being afraid of flying.
It's like that doesn't actually help the problem at all.
If you listen to me and you say, why are you hesitant?
Okay, I'm hearing you.
What we can do are these steps to maybe alleviate that.
For example, with Prozac, if you have PMDD, you're likely to know very, very quickly if it's working or not.
So the doctor could say to me,
Mm-hmm.
