If you're too stressed to eat properly, or you've lost weight through illness or some other unintentional means.
Thinking can get louder, but you can't act on it, and your body turns up the volume to try and get you to respond.
So let's look at what happens if you start respecting the hung hunger signals your body is sending you.
So instead of do instead of taking a drug to stop the signals, you actually just start to listen.
Like go, okay, my body is really sending the signal that it really wants food.
What happens if I respond to that?
And there are three phases that happen.
Phase one.
That's when you're doing your best to ignore them and you're using rules about when and how and what and how much.
So this is you trying to be healthy.
I'm only going to eat healthy food.
I'm going to ignore ultra-processed foods.
This is the phase where the food thoughts are very loud and very intrusive because your body is trying desperately to get through to you.
Your body doesn't care that you're trying to get into a dress for your cousin's wedding.
Your body just knows it is not getting enough.
And so it screams at you.
So phase two is when you go, okay, I'm going to start listening.
So what you do is you stop the rules and you start listening to those loud, loud signals and you respond to what your body is asking for.
Now for a while this can feel really uncomfortable because we have been trained into not trusting our bodies.
We may eat way more than we imagined we would.
