We may eat more than is comfortable, but this is not a loss of control and this part of learning to respond to your hunger is reasonably short lived.
Because your body is recalibrating and it's making sure you're not getting enough to starve.
And the more you can listen and respond to it, the quicker you will go back to normal eating.
The quicker you will get through that phase of what we call as re-feeding, allowing the the the body to know that it is not in starvation mode and go back to just long periods of not really thinking about it.
food at all.
And then phase three, when you are able to listen to your thoughts, you respond to your hugness hunger signals.
You're not trying to override them, you're not trying to squash them.
Phase three is when your thoughts really just settle into normal food thinking.

And then I just had this gentle thought, Oh, like porridge would be quite good for breakfast.
It was almost unbelievable.
And I have now, after years of doing this, I just now have very gentle thoughts about food.
The more hungry I get, the more food thinking I have in my brain.
I feed myself and then I go for hours without thinking about food again.
