If the Chinese figured out how you could prevent AI from ever wanting to take over, from ever wanting to take control away from people, they would immediately tell the Americans.

Because they don't want AI taking control away from people in America either.

We're all in the same boat when it comes to that.

In particular, the back propagation algorithm was reinvented by David Rumelhart, who got a nasty brain disease and died young.

But he doesn't get enough credit.

If I had to bet on one lot of people, it would probably be Germany, Google.

But I used to work for Google, so don't take me too seriously about that.

I have a vested interest in them winning.
