And I was like, I don't know, I don't know anything about audio documentaries, but but she planted that seed in my head and then I couldn't stop thinking about it.

I used to hear my earlier interviews, like someone would be talking about like, Yep, uhhuh, right?
Oh, no, no kidding.
I I just talked over everybody.
And you know, I didn't know enough to just shut up and let people talk.
Like you're doing here, John, very well.
Um, I I would just talk over them and like, this is unusable.
You're just and I had to learn that.
But I think it taught me, maybe you can agree with this.
I thought I think it taught me to be a better interviewer.
Because by slowing things down and leaving those dead spaces, I found that people would talk a little bit more and maybe think like, Oh
It's not registering.
I better say something more m more interesting.
Those dead space really worked.
And so I started to learn, you know, a little bit how how to do it.
Um but my initial tape was just terrible.
